🏷️ Sensitivity Labels
Sensitivity labels are electronic tags you add to files and emails to show how sensitive the information is - a bit like putting documents into different folders in a filing cabinet, but smarter. These labels don’t only sort and classify information (like Public, Internal, or Confidential), however, they can also protect it automatically using things like encryption and access controls. Unlike a normal sticker or folder, this tag travels with the file or email, helping make sure it’s handled safely and only accessed by the right people, no matter where it ends up being sent or stored.

Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is a solution that helps prevent the accidental sharing of sensitive information. It works automatically by detecting certain types of data - such as credit card numbers, personal details, or confidential business information - and can warn you, block sharing, and/or restrict access depending on the rules set by your organisation. Think of it as a safety net: it’s watching for sensitive content and stopping it from leaving the business in an unsafe way.
